The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Central Railway, has just released a supplementary notification for the engagement of Act Apprentices for the year 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for ITI certificate holders to gain hands-on technical training within the prestigious Indian Railways ecosystem.
This recruitment drive specifically targets 51 vacant slots across various technical trades. Unlike typical high-pressure exams, this selection is purely merit-based, focusing on your academic performance in school and your technical vocational training. If you want to enhance your skills and boost your future employability in the mechanical or electrical sectors, this 1-year apprenticeship is the perfect stepping stone.
Academic: Passed 10th Class (Matriculation) or its equivalent under the 10+2 system with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
Technical: Must have a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.
Note: Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are NOT eligible for this specific apprenticeship program.
The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online:
General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 100/-.
SC / ST / PwBD / Female Candidates: NIL (Exempted).

Is there a stipend during training?
Ans: Yes, candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 9,600/-.
What is the duration of the training?
Ans: The apprenticeship training lasts for 1 year.
Can I apply for more than one cluster?
Ans: No, you must choose only one cluster. Multiple applications will result in rejection.
Do I get a permanent job after training?
Ans: No. Apprenticeship does not confer any right to immediate absorption or permanent employment in the Railways.
What if my 10th marks are in grades?
Ans: RRC will take the midpoint of the grade range to calculate your percentage.
Are Diploma holders eligible?
Ans: No, only ITI certificate holders are eligible for this notification.
Is there any hostel facility?
Ans: No, selected candidates must make their own stay arrangements during training.
What is the last date to apply?
Ans: The portal closes on April 09, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
Who is exempt from the application fee?
Ans: Women, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates do not have to pay any fee.
Do I need to send a hard copy of the application?
Ans: No, candidates should not send any physical documents to the RRC office.
