Job Description

  1. Can final-year engineering students apply? 

Ans:  Yes, you can apply for the Prelims, but you must pass and produce your degree before the Mains exam application.

  1. What is the salary for these posts? 

Ans:  Class-I officers start at ₹67,700–₹2,08,700 (Level 11), and Class-II start at ₹53,100–₹1,67,800 (Level 9).

  1. Is the Consent Deposit mandatory? 

Ans:  Yes. If you do not pay the ₹500 consent deposit, your application will be cancelled, and you cannot sit for the exam.

  1. Is the Consent Deposit refundable? 

Ans:  Yes, it is refunded to those who actually appear for the Preliminary exam.

  1. Can I apply from another state?

Ans:   Yes, but you will be treated as a General category candidate and must meet the eligibility criteria.

  1. What is the exam language? 

Ans:  General Studies (Prelims Part-1) and Gujarati Language (Mains) are in Gujarati. Engineering subjects and English papers are in English.

  1. Is there a negative marking in Prelims?

Ans:   The notification mentions objective types (MCQs), and usually, GPSC follows a negative marking system, though the syllabus will specify details.

  1. Can I use a calculator? 

Ans:  Calculators are not allowed in the Prelims but Non-programmable scientific calculators are permitted in the Mains exam.

  1. What happens if I make a mistake in my application? 

Ans:  You can edit your application until the last date (15/04/2026). Do not create a new application.

  1. Is there any interview for Class-III?

Ans:   No, but these specific posts are Class-I and Class-II, which do require a personal interview.
