The role of a Female Health Worker (FHW) is the heartbeat of grassroots healthcare. You are the primary link between the government’s medical initiatives and the families living in rural blocks. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve a mix of field visits and administrative reporting at Health Sub-Centers. You will be responsible for conducting immunization drives for newborns, providing prenatal and postnatal care to mothers, and educating the community on family planning and nutrition. The impact you make is life-saving; by ensuring a child gets vaccinated or a mother receives proper care, you are literally shaping the healthy future of the nation. It is a role of high responsibility that requires empathy, resilience, and a deep commitment to public service.
Best For:
Candidates who possess an empathetic nature and enjoy interacting with people.
Those who want a stable government desk-and-field job with fixed working hours.
Individuals with a background in Nursing or Auxiliary Midwifery who wish to work in their home districts or nearby rural areas.
Not Ideal For:
People who prefer a purely corporate, high-stress office environment.
Those who are unwilling to travel to rural blocks or health centers for community outreach.
Minimum: 18 Years.
Maximum: 40 Years.
Relaxations: Up to 5 years for General female candidates and 10 years for Reserved category females. However, the maximum age with all relaxations cannot exceed 45 years.
For the first five years, selected candidates will be appointed on a fixed-pay contract basis. This is a standard procedure for many Gujarat government roles before regularizing the service.
Monthly Fixed Salary: ₹26,000/- per month.
Post-Five Years: Upon satisfactory completion of the contract, you will be placed in the regular 7th Pay Commission pay scale with all applicable benefits.
Perks: During the contract, you are eligible for the benefits defined in government resolutions. After regularization, you will receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and benefit from the National Pension System (NPS) and medical facilities.
