Desirable: Familiarity with the customs, dialects, and manners of Himachal Pradesh.

The HPPSC follows a transparent, multi-stage selection process:
Screening Test (Paper-I): An objective-type (CBT or Offline) test covering General Knowledge and Language skills.
Subject Aptitude Test (Paper-II): A descriptive exam focusing on your core subject (Ayurveda).
Personality Test: An interview held at the Commissionβs office in Shimla worth 30 marks.

What is the salary for this position?
Ans: The selected Job Trainee will receive a fixed amount of βΉ29,500 per month.
Is there negative marking in the exam?
Ans: Yes, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer or if a question is left blank.
Where will the exam be conducted?
Ans: The primary examination station is Shimla.
Can I change my category after submitting the form?
Ans: Generally, no changes are allowed, but specific modifications can be requested in writing before the closing date under certain conditions.
I am a regular Government employee. Do I need an NOC?
Ans: Yes, you must inform your department and produce an NOC at the time of the Personality Test.
What happens if I leave a question blank?
Ans: Leaving a question blank (not even selecting option 'E') will result in negative marking.
What are the passing marks for the Subject Aptitude Test (SAT)?
Ans: General candidates need 45%, and reserved category candidates need 40%.
Can I use a scribe for the exam?
Ans: Yes, candidates with 40% or more disability can request a scribe 7 days before the exam.
What is the duration of the BAMS degree required?
Ans: The degree must be of at least five years duration.
