Basic Registration: Fill in your details like name and date of birth exactly as they appear on your Matriculation certificate.
Fill Application: Log in and enter your educational qualifications and category details. Ensure you choose your Language and Literature paper for the Mains.
Upload Documents: Upload a clear colored passport-sized photograph and your signature in the designated slots.
Fee Payment: Pay the exam fee online before the Last Date of February 16, 2026.
Download & Print: After final submission, download the application and print two copies for your records.
Preliminary Exam: Two objective papers of 200 marks each (General Studies I & II). This is for screening only and marks aren't counted for the final merit.
Main (Written) Exam: Consists of 6 descriptive papers totaling 950 marks. Paper I (Hindi & English) is qualifying only.
Interview/Personality Test: Candidates who pass the Mains are called for a 100-mark interview.
Physical/Medical Test: Required for specific posts like Police DSP and Jail Superintendent to ensure candidates meet the minimum height (165cm for UR/OBC) and health standards.
1. Is there any negative marking in the JPSC Prelims?
Ans: No, there is no negative marking for wrong answers in the Preliminary Examination.
2. I am a final-year student. Can I apply?
Ans: The notification states you must hold the degree. All required certificates must be available by the Last Date of application submission.
3. What is the minimum qualifying mark for the exam?
Ans: For the general category, it is 40% aggregate, while it is relaxed to 32% for SC/ST and Females, and 34% for BC-I.
4. Can candidates from other states apply?
Ans: Yes, Indian citizens are eligible to apply. However, reservation benefits are only available to Permanent Residents of Jharkhand.
