What is the salary for a PPSC Research Officer?
Ans: The initial pay is Rs. 47,600/- per month. During the 3-year probation, only fixed emoluments (minimum pay) are provided without allowances.
Can candidates from other states apply?
Ans: Yes, but SC/ST candidates from other states must apply under the General Category and will not receive age relaxation or reservation benefits.
Is there negative marking in the exam?
Ans: Yes, for every incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
I am in my final year of Masters, can I apply?
Ans: No, you must possess the requisite qualification by the last date of application, which is April 12, 2026.
What is the qualifying mark for the written exam?
Ans: Candidates must score at least 40% (35% for SC/BC of Punjab) to be considered for the interview.
Do I need to send the hard copy of the application to PPSC?
Ans: No, hard copies are not required at the time of application. You only need to present them during the scrutiny stage if shortlisted.
What if I made a mistake in my category?
Ans: The category selected during the online application is final and cannot be changed under any circumstances.
Is Punjabi language mandatory?
Ans: Yes, you must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi. Relaxations apply only to wards of Defence Personnel (who get 2 years to pass) and certain War Heroes/dependents.
How many candidates are called for the interview?
Ans: Generally, candidates up to three times the number of posts are called based on written merit.
What is the duration of the written exam?
Ans: The examination lasts for two (02) hours.
