The Rail Wheel Factory (RWF), a premier manufacturing unit under the Ministry of Railways, has released an exciting notification for the engagement of Act Apprentices for the year 2025-26. This is a golden opportunity for ITI certificate holders to kickstart their careers in a high-tech railway establishment located in Yelahanka, Bangalore.
Undergoing this apprenticeship provides invaluable hands-on technical experience in specialized trades like Fitter, Machinist, and CNC Programming. While this training does not guarantee a permanent job in the Railways, the skill set and the NCVT proficiency certificate you earn will significantly boost your employability in both the public and private industrial sectors.
Academic: 10th Standard or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
Technical: Must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade from NCVT. (Note: SCVT certificates are not accepted) .
General/OBC/Ex-Servicemen: ā¹100/- (Non-refundable).
SC/ST/PwBD/Women Candidates: Exempted (No Fee).
Payment Mode: Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft (DD) from a Nationalised Bank, drawn in favor of 'Principal Financial Adviser/Rail Wheel Factory'.

You must enclose self-attested photocopies of the following:
10th Std/Matriculation Marks Card (showing Date of Birth).
National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the designated trade issued by NCVT.
Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC candidates) in the prescribed Central Government format.
Disability Certificate (if applicable).
Two identical passport-size photos (signed and placed in a separate cover) plus one pasted on the form.
Employment Exchange Registration Card (Current/Valid).
Discharge/Service Certificate (for Ex-Servicemen or Wards of Railway Employees)
Download Form: Visit the Official RWF Website and download Annexure-A (Application Format) and the required Checklist.
Register Online: Go to the Apprenticeship India Portal and register as a candidate. Note down your Registration Number.
Fill Application: Fill in the offline application form in Capital Letters exactly as per your Matriculation certificate.
Attach Documents: Attach self-attested copies of all educational, technical, and category certificates listed in the "Documents Required" section.
Fee Payment: If applicable, get an IPO/DD of ā¹100/-.
Submission: Place the form and documents in an envelope. Superscribe it with "Application for undergoing training under the Apprentices' Act, 1961 for the year 2025-26 in Rail Wheel Factory".

The Senior Personnel Officer-II, Personnel Department, Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka, Bangalore - 560 064. Alternatively, drop it in the Drop Box at the Office of the Principal Chief Personnel Officer during working hours.
The selection is purely merit-based; there is no written exam or interview.
Merit List: Prepared based on the percentage of marks in 10th Standard (minimum 50% required).
Tie-Breaker: If marks are equal, the older candidate is preferred. If birth dates match, the one who passed 10th earlier is chosen.
Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates for verification.
Medical Fitness: Selected candidates must pass a medical examination by a Government Assistant Surgeon (Gazetted).
Can I apply if I have an SCVT certificate?
Ans: No, only NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) certificates are accepted.
Is there any hostel facility during training?
Ans: No, selected candidates must make their own stay arrangements.
I am an Engineering Graduate; can I apply?
Ans: No, Degree and Diploma holders are not eligible for this specific apprenticeship.
What if I don't have an Employment Exchange registration?
Ans: It is mandatory for all candidates except for wards of serving Railway employees.
Is there any job guarantee after training?
Ans: No, the Railways are not obligated to offer permanent employment after the apprenticeship.
Can I apply for more than one trade?
Ans: No, only one application should be submitted. Multiple applications will be rejected.
What is the minimum percentage required in 10th?
Ans: You must have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in 10th standard.
What is the training period for a CNC Operator?
Ans: The training for the CNC Programming-cum-Operator trade is 6 months.
Do I need to send original certificates?
