Visit the Website: Go to www.rbi.org.in, navigate to the "Opportunities@RBI" section, and click on "Current Vacancies".
New Registration: Click "Click here for New Registration" and enter your basic details like name, email, and mobile number to get your Registration Number and Password.
Upload Documents: Upload your scanned photo, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration as per the specified sizes.
Fill Application Details: Provide your educational qualifications, choice of exam center, and preferred RBI office.
Preview and Pay: Use the "Preview" tab to check for errors. Once confirmed, pay the application fee using a Debit/Credit card or Net Banking.
Final Submit: Click on "Complete Registration" and take a printout of the application form and e-receipt for your records.
Preliminary Exam: An objective online test focusing on speed and accuracy. It consists of English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning.
Main Exam: A more detailed objective test adding General Awareness and Computer Knowledge to the core subjects. This stage determines your merit.
Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Mandatory for those who pass the Mains. You will be tested on your ability to read, write, and speak the local language of the office you applied for.
English Language: 30 Questions (30 Marks) - 20 Minutes.
Numerical Ability: 35 Questions (35 Marks) - 20 Minutes.
Reasoning Ability: 35 Questions (35 Marks) - 20 Minutes.
Test of Reasoning: 40 Questions (40 Marks).
Test of English Language: 40 Questions (40 Marks).
Test of Numerical Ability: 40 Questions (40 Marks).
Test of General Awareness: 40 Questions (40 Marks).

What is the initial salary of an RBI Assistant?
Ans: The starting basic pay is ₹29,000, but with allowances, the initial monthly gross emoluments are approximately ₹58,514/-.
Can I apply for more than one RBI office?
Ans: No. Candidates can apply for vacancies in one office only.
Is there negative marking in the exams?
Ans: Yes. Both Preliminary and Main exams have a negative marking of 1/4th for every wrong answer.
What if I am from another state? Can I apply to any office?
Ans: Yes, but you must pass the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) of that specific state. If you aren't proficient in the local language, you will be disqualified.
Is the 50% graduation marks requirement mandatory for everyone?
Ans: It is mandatory for General, OBC, and EWS candidates. SC, ST, and PwBD candidates only need a passing degree.
Will I get a refund if the exam is cancelled?
Ans: The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
What does the Handwritten Declaration say?
Ans: The text is: "I, (Name), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.".
Can I use a scribe if I am a PwBD candidate?
Ans: Yes, candidates with 40% or more disability (and some with less than 40% having difficulty writing) can use a scribe at their own cost.
Are there any promotion prospects?
Ans: Yes, RBI offers reasonable prospects for promotion to higher officer grades based on internal performance and exams.
Do I need to send a hard copy of the application to RBI?
Ans: No. You do not need to send any printouts or certificates to the bank at the time of application.
