Academic: You must hold a Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent degree in any stream from a recognized University.

Language: You must be able to speak, read, and write Odia and have passed Odia as a subject in H.S.C. or equivalent.
The fee must be paid online via SB Collect:
Unreserved (UR) / SEBC Category: Rs. 500/-.
SC / ST / PwD Category: Rs. 200/-.

Registration: Click on the Apply Online link for Advt No. 01/2026 and register with your basic details.
Fill Application: Enter your educational details, ensuring you convert CGPA to percentage accurately.
Preference Entry: Rank the six categories of posts/institutions from highest to lowest priority. Choose wisely, as this cannot be changed later.
Upload Media: Upload a recent photo (taken within 15 days), your signature, and a left-hand thumb impression.
Payment: Pay the application fee via SB Collect using your Application ID.
Final Submit: Review everything and hit submit. Download the final form after 48 hours for your records.
The selection is purely based on Merit-cum-Preference through the following stages:
Written Test (200 Marks): An OMR-based exam consisting of 100 Multiple Choice Questions. Each right answer gets 2 marks, and there is a negative marking of 0.50 for wrong answers.
Computer Skill Test (50 Marks): Shortlisted candidates (2 times the vacancy) will undergo a practical test. You must score at least 20 marks to qualify.
Document Verification: Successful candidates in both tests will be called to the SSB Office for final certificate checking.
Can candidates from outside Odisha apply?
Ans: No, you must be a domicile of Odisha and be able to read, write, and speak Odia.
Is there any negative marking in the written exam?
Ans: Yes, 0.50 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
What are the qualifying marks for the written test?
Ans: 40% for Unreserved candidates and 30% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD categories.
I have 40% disability; can I get a scribe?
Ans: Yes, PwD candidates with 40% or more permanent disability are allowed a scribe and compensatory time.
Can I change my post preference after submitting the form?
Ans: No, the order of preference is final and binding once submitted.
What is the salary for these posts?
Ans: Both Junior Assistant and Junior Clerk posts are in Pay Level-4, Cell-1 (Group-C).
Is a computer certificate mandatory?
Ans: Yes, you must have adequate knowledge of basic computer skills with a valid certification.
What happens if there is a tie in marks?
Ans: The candidate with a higher aggregate percentage in their Bachelor's degree will be ranked higher. If still tied, the older candidate gets preference.
Where will the exam be held?
Ans: The written test will be in Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Jeypore, and Sambalpur.
Do I need to send a hard copy of the application to SSB?
Ans: No, applications are accepted through online mode only. Do not send physical copies.
