For Paper I (Classes I to V): Must possess D. T. Ed / D. Ele. Ed or equivalent from a recognized institution.
For Paper II (Classes VI to VIII): Must possess a UG Degree in the relevant subject along with a B. Ed or equivalent.
Current Status: You must be a Working Teacher appointed on or before 01.09.2025.
Fees must be paid through the online payment gateway using Net Banking, Credit, or Debit cards:
SC, SCA, ST, and PwD Candidates: Rs. 300/-.
All Other Candidates: Rs. 600/-.

Service Certificate: Duly signed by the Head of School/Competent Authority as per the provided Annexure-I.
Educational Certificates: Marksheets and degree certificates of D.T.E/D.T.Ed/D.Ele.Ed/B.Ed as per eligibility.
Aadhaar Card: For identity verification.
Community Certificate: If applying under reserved categories.
Teacher EMIS ID Number: Mandatory for all working teachers.
IFHRMS Employee ID: For teachers on a Time Scale.
Registration: Visit the Official Website at www.trb.tn.gov.in and click on the TNTET 2026 for Working Teachers link.
Service Certificate: Download Annexure-I, get it filled and signed by your school head, as this is mandatory to upload.
Fill Details: Enter your Teacher EMIS ID, name, and educational details carefully.
Upload Documents: Upload your photo, signature, and the signed Service Certificate.
Payment: Pay the application fee online based on your category.
Submission: Review your application and submit. Download and print the confirmation page for your records.
Online Application: Filling out the form with correct service and educational details.
Computer Based Test (CBT): An objective-type examination for Paper I and/or Paper II.
Certificate Verification: Teachers who secure the qualifying marks will have their Service Certificates and educational documents verified by the board.
Issue of Certificate: Successful candidates will be awarded the TET Eligibility Certificate.
Is TNTET 2026 open to fresh candidates?
Ans: No, this notification is strictly for Working Teachers appointed on or before 01.09.2025.
What is the last date to apply?
Ans: The Last Date for online submission is April 10, 2026.
Can a teacher working in a private school apply?
Ans: Yes, teachers in recognized private schools (State Board and others) are eligible.
Is Paper I and Paper II compulsory for everyone?
Ans: You should apply for the paper (I or II) relevant to the classes you are currently teaching.
What is the EMIS ID?
Ans: It is the unique teacher identification number provided by the Education Management Information System.
I was appointed after September 2025, can I apply?
Ans: No, the cutoff date for appointment is 01.09.2025.
Is there any offline mode to pay the fee?
Ans: No, fees must be paid through the online mode only.
What if my school is under the Forest Department?
Ans: You are eligible; the notification covers multiple departments including Forest and Social Welfare.
