  1. Is there negative marking in the written exam? 

Ans:  Yes, 1/4th (0.25) marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

  1. Can I apply if my license is only 1 year old? 

Ans:  No, you must have held a valid license for at least 3 years before the notification date.

  1. What is the minimum passing mark? 

Ans:  General/OBC candidates need 45%, while SC/ST candidates need 35% in the written test to qualify for the driving test.

  1. Are candidates from other states eligible? 

Ans:  Only those who have completed High School/Intermediate from Uttarakhand or are permanent residents are eligible.

  1. How many candidates will be called for the driving test? 

Ans:  Candidates equal to 6 times the number of vacancies will be called based on written exam merit.

  1. Can I use a whitener on my OMR sheet? 

Ans:  No, using whitener or scratching the OMR will lead to negative marking or disqualification.

  1. Is the job permanent? 

Ans:  The posts are a mix of permanent and temporary but all come under the pensionable state service rules.

  1. What happens if two candidates get the same total marks? 

Ans:  The one with higher marks in the written exam is ranked higher. If still tied, the older candidate gets preference.

  1. Do I need to send a hard copy to the UKSSSC office? 

Ans:  No, the entire process is online. Keep the printout for document verification later.

  1. What is the crucial date for EWS certificate validity? 

Ans:  The EWS certificate must be issued between April 01, 2026, and May 07, 2026, based on the previous financial year's income.
