MBBS Degree: You must have passed the written and practical parts of the final MBBS examination.

Internship: Candidates currently undergoing a compulsory rotating internship are eligible but must complete it before final appointment.

One-Time Registration (OTR): Visit upsconline.nic.in and register yourself to get a Universal Registration Number (URN).
Login: Use your Email ID, Mobile Number, or URN to log in to the portal.
Fill Part-I: Enter your personal details, educational qualifications, and category.
Pay Fee: Complete the payment of Rs. 200 (if applicable).
Choose Centre: Select your preferred examination city.
Upload Documents: Upload your scanned photograph, signature, and Photo ID proof.
Final Submission: Review all details carefully and submit. Download a copy of your application for future reference.
The examination is conducted in two distinct stages:
Written Examination (CBT): Two objective-type papers (Paper I and Paper II), each carrying 250 marks (Total 500).
Personality Test (Interview): Candidates who clear the written exam are called for an interview worth 100 marks.
Final Merit: Prepared by combining marks from the written exam and the personality test (Total 600).
1. Can final-year MBBS students apply?
Ans: Yes, you can apply provisionally, provided you pass the degree before the final result stage.
2. Is there negative marking in the exam?
Ans: Yes, 1/3rd (0.33) marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
3. What is the last date to apply?
Ans: The last date is 31st March 2026 at 6:00 PM sharp.
4. Can I change my exam center after submitting the form?
Ans: No, the Commission does not entertain requests for center changes after submission.
5. Are female candidates required to pay any fee?
Ans: No, all female candidates are exempted from the application fee.
6. Is private practice allowed after selection?
Ans: No, private practice is strictly prohibited for these posts, and candidates receive a Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA).
7. What is the basic salary for these posts?
Ans: Most posts are in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix with a starting basic pay of Rs. 56,100/- plus allowances.
8. Can I withdraw my application after submission?
Ans: No, UPSC does not allow the withdrawal of applications for CMS 2026.
9. Is an internship necessary for eligibility?
Ans: You can appear for the exam without finishing it, but you must complete it before your actual appointment.
