Academic: Must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) under the 10+2 system with at least 50% aggregate marks.
Technical: Must possess an ITI Certificate in the relevant trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.

SSC (10th) Marksheet and Certificate.
ITI Marksheet (Semester-wise or Consolidated) and National Trade Certificate (NCVT/SCVT).

Fill Personal Details: Enter your name, father's name, and date of birth exactly as they appear in your 10th marksheet.
Educational Info: Provide your 10th and ITI marks accurately. Ensure your aggregate percentage is calculated correctly.
Select Unit: Choose the Division or Workshop where you wish to undergo training. You can only apply to one unit.
Upload Documents: Upload your scanned photo, signature, and all required educational and caste certificates.
Fee Payment: Pay the application fee (if applicable) using any online mode like UPI, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
Final Submit: Review your form, click on Submit, and download the final application for your records.
The selection process is entirely merit-based and transparent:
Preparation of Merit List: The merit list will be prepared based on the average of marks obtained in both Matriculation (10th) and ITI (giving 50% weightage to each).
No Written Exam or Interview: Selection will be strictly based on academic records; there is no oral test.
Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for physical verification of original certificates.
Medical Examination: Candidates must be found medically fit for the training as per railway standards.
Can final year ITI students apply?
Ans: No, you must have your ITI certificate in hand on or before the closing date (23.03.2026).
Is there any physical exam?
Ans: No, there is no physical efficiency test, only a basic medical fitness check.
What is the duration of the training?
Ans: The training period is typically one year.
Will I get a job in Western Railway after training?
Ans: This is only training; however, you get a 20% preference in future Group 'D' recruitments.
What if my ITI is from SCVT?
Ans: Candidates from both NCVT and SCVT are eligible to apply.
Can I apply for more than one division?
Ans: No, candidates can apply for only one unit/division under this notification.
What is the stipend amount?
Ans: The stipend will be paid as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, and government guidelines.
Is a valid email ID mandatory?
Ans: Yes, you must maintain an active personal email ID throughout the engagement process.
What happens if there is a tie in marks?
Ans: If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be given preference.
Do I need to send a hard copy to RRC?
Ans: No, the entire process is online only; do not send any physical documents to the RRC office.
