If you have a passion for sports and a drive to shape the next generation of athletes in Himachal Pradesh, this is your moment. The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA) has recently released a significant notification for the direct recruitment of professional Sports Coaches. These positions are specifically designed to manage and train talent within designated Sports Hostels across the state, working under the Department of School Education.
This recruitment drive is not just a job; it’s a mission to bring professional-grade athletic training to the grassroots level. Unlike traditional administrative roles, this engagement offers the unique satisfaction of seeing your expertise translate into gold medals and sports excellence for the state. While these are scheme-based temporary engagements for an initial period of five years, they offer a stable monthly honorarium and the prestige of working with the Himachal Pradesh Government.
To qualify, you must meet a two-tier educational standard:
Foundational: A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University.
Specialized: A One-year Diploma in Coaching from the National Institute of Sports (NIS) or a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Coaching from a recognized State Sports University in the relevant discipline.
Achievement: You must have participated at the University, State, National, or International level in your specific sport.
The HPRCA follows a transparent fee structure. Note that only online payments are accepted.
All Categories: ₹800.00 (This includes a ₹100 examination fee and a ₹2700 processing fee—please note the total provided by the Aayog is explicitly listed as ₹800).
Correction Fee: ₹100.00 (per session if you need to edit your form during the window).
Handpicked opportunities for you
Can I apply for multiple coaching posts?
Ans: Yes, if you possess the specific coaching diploma for each sport, but you must submit separate applications for different post codes.
Is there a negative marking?
Ans: The notification mentions 1 mark per question; however, for CBTs, the Aayog usually follows normalization if shifts vary.
Will I be made permanent after 5 years?
Ans: No, the notification explicitly states there is no right of regularization against sanctioned posts.
I am from Punjab; can I apply?
Ans: Yes, but you will be treated as a General category candidate and must meet the Matric/10+2 qualification criteria from an institution within HP unless you are a Bonafide Himachali.
What if I make a mistake in the form?
Ans: A correction window will open for four days after the closing date (subject to a ₹100 fee).
Are final year students eligible?
Ans: No, all essential qualifications must be acquired by the closing date of the application (May 19, 2026).
What is the "Normalization" process?
Ans: If the exam is held in multiple shifts, the Aayog uses the Z-Score method to ensure fairness across different paper difficulty levels.
Is an interview required?
Ans: The selection is primarily based on the written screening test/CBT followed by document verification.
What happens if I upload a blurry photo?
Ans: Incomplete applications or those with prescribed size/quality issues are liable to be rejected straightway.
Where will the exam centers be?
Ans: Centers are usually in major districts of HP. You can select your preference during application, but the HPRCA reserves the final right to allot centers.
